• In August 2009, PXP received the 2009 National Industry Leadership Award from the National Safety Council (NSC). This annual award recognizes PXP as an organization that achieved a safety record (incident rate) in the top 5% of our industry peers while working a significant number of man-hours (more than 1 million in 2008). PXP’s Los Angeles Basin Operations received the NSC’s Occupational Safety Excellence Award for having incident rates at least 50% below the national average for our industry. PXP’s Los Angeles Basin Operations also received the NSC’s Perfect Safety Award for going an entire year without an injury that resulted in any time away from work. Both of these award categories formed the basis for our nomination and selection by the NSC Board of Directors for the 2009 National Industry Leadership Award. This is the second time PXP has received this award in the past four years.
  • In March 2009, PXP was selected by the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) as a recipient of the 2008 Environmental Lease Maintenance Award for the Jesus Maria Lease in the Northwest area of the Lompoc Field. The Environmental Lease Maintenance Award recognizes those leases that surpass environmental regulatory requirements. PXP has received this recognition for five consecutive years.
  • In March 2009, PXP was selected by the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) as a recipient of the 2008 Environmental Lease Maintenance Award for all of the leases located in the Arroyo Grande Field. Those leases include the Signal, Rock, Hyla, and Maino leases. The Environmental Lease Maintenance Award recognizes those leases that surpass environmental regulatory requirements. PXP has received this recognition for five consecutive years.
  • PXP received Occupational Excellence Achievement Awards for the years 2007 and 2008 from the National Safety Council for Outstanding Safety Practices at PXP's following California locations: Arroyo Grande; San Joaquin Valley Cymric; San Joaquin Valley Midway Sunset; San Joaquin Valley South Belridge; Gaviota Operations; Lompoc Operations; Los Angeles Basin Las Cienegas; Los Angeles Basin Inglewood; Los Angeles Basin Montebello; Los Angeles Basin Packard; Los Angeles Basin San Vicente; Platform Harvest; Platform Hidalgo; and Port Hueneme.
  • PXP was selected as a 2006 recipient of the BLM Operator of the Year Award. This award offered by the California Office of the BLM honored PXP for its conservation efforts, including those on our E&M lease, which include reducing the footprint of the project, protecting the kangaroo rat, and participating in a tracking program (radio transmitters) of the kangaroo rat.
  • PXP was selected by the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) as a 2006 recipient of the Clean Lease Awards for Union Hoyt and McKittrick Fee.
  • PXP was selected as a recipient of the BLM Best Management Practices National Award in the area of Habitat Conservation in 2006.
  • In June 2006, PXP's Los Angeles Basin and San Joaquin Valley operations received the National Safety Council's "National Safety Leadership Award" and "Safety Excellence Award" presented in Los Angeles on June 21, 2006.
  • PXP was awarded the Smart Business Recycling Award for 2005 by the County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, and Environmental Programs Division. The presentation was made at the Board of Supervisors' Meeting on May 30, 2006, to recognize PXP for demonstrating commendable recycling efforts in Los Angeles County. The top twenty-five (25) businesses out of one thousand (1000) businesses tracked were honored. The program is designed to help businesses reduce the amount of trash they generate and dispose of by advocating recycling, which helps save money, conserve landfill space, and protect the environment by conserving natural resources. PXP takes part by recycling wood pallets, computer printers, photocopier toner cartridges, old tires, vehicle batteries, used oil filters, used oil, scrap metal, and old paint.
  • PXP was presented with the Safety Award for Excellence (SAFE Award) by the U.S. Department of the Interior Minerals Management Service (MMS) for PXP's operation of Platforms "B" and "C" in 2004. PXP's subsidiary, Arguello Inc., won the same award for Platform Harvest in 2003. This award is presented by the MMS only to those companies that "expend extra effort and conduct their operations in a safe and pollution-free manner by adhering to all regulatory requirements, employing trained and motivated personnel, and taking that extra step to enhance safety of operations and environmental protection."
